We’ve produced a lot of feature stories about Middle Tennessee this year — more than 60. Those are the longer pieces that allow a reporter to go beyond the headlines and dive deep into a topic.

We’ve profiled musicians and put thorny political matters into context. We’ve explained historic preservation debates and taste-tested hot chicken. We’ve interviewed difference-makers like Governor Haslam, John Seigenthaler, and a bouncer at Robert’s Western World. We’ve given you history lessons on Civil War battles. We’ve gotten George Gruhn to show us guitars and Connie Britton to explain her Nashville accent. We’ve even talked to an astronaut from Tennessee….while he’s in space.
