Talk of the Nation Ends, Here and Now Expands
On Thursday, June 27th, Neal Conan signed off for the last time, as NPR has ended production of Talk of the Nation after 21 years (11 of those with Conan as host).
Citing a need for more robust midday news coverage, NPR has teamed up with WBUR to co-produce an expanded 2-hour version of Here and Now. Jeremy Hobson from the Marketplace Morning Report will join Robin Young as co-host, and the longer news magazine will feature stories from the NPR newsroom.
Here and Now will continue to air weekdays at noon on 90.3 WPLN-FM, but will now run until 2pm. PRI’s The World will air from 2-3 when All Things Considered begins.
Science Friday has not ended production. It can now be heard on 1430 WPLN-AM at its normal time, 1 – 3pm Friday afternoons.
